State Test Errors

UNDATED (AP) -- Elementary school students across Illinois are taking state assessments this week that have as many as 13 errors.

Officials from the Illinois State Board of Education say many of the mistakes were caught before a March 13Th testing start. Spokesman Matt Vanover says schools were sent instructions to address those errors.

But other mistakes were discovered last week.

The errors range from giving wrong directions on how to complete the exams to multiple-choice questions without correct answers.

Vanover tells the Chicago Sun-Times that several questions will be disregarded or fixed in the scoring process.

Last year, Illinois experienced many problems with state tests.

About 60 tests were missing and about a thousand were scored but not matched to students because of incorrect labeling or other problems.
