Former Police Official Named Outstanding Person of 20th Century

A long-time Beloit police official has been honored as an "outstanding person of the 20th century".

Charles Tubbs, who retired from the department in 2003 after achieving the rank of Deputy Chief, will be listed in the book "2000 Outstanding People".

Tubbs, who began working at the Beloit Police Department in 1974, has a number of honors to his credit, including an award for outstanding courage and commitment by President George w. Bush.
