It appears money can buy support when it comes to the U.S. Senate race in Illinois. A new poll shows the two wealthiest candidates, Republican Jack Ryan and Democrat Blair Hull are pulling ahead.
The Chicago Tribune/WGN poll shows 30 percent of Republican voters favoring Ryan over dairy owner Jim Oberweis. Democrats are showing their support for Hull. He's pulling 24 percent of the vote compared to 15 percent for his rival State Senator Barack Obama.
However, the poll doesn't indicate that the two front-runners for each party have their party's nomination sewed up. The poll was conducted Feb. 11 to Feb. 17 and has a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.
