Author Diane Clikeman-Miller discussed her 30-plus books with the Rockford Writer's Guild today. Many of her publications include history books about the stateline area, along with poetry, compilations of her Durand Newspaper columns and stories about what it's like to be a mom of eight. She credits a group of 75 to 90 year olds that all made writing about history possible.
"Some of them had come in a covered wagon and seen the Challenger fall out of the sky. Never again will there be a generation that you could tap into this way. Today's kids will find out what Pac Man did first," says Clikeman-Miller.
Clikeman-Miller is featured in the Rockford Public Library and Rockford Literacy Council's "Confluence" book of the 100 authors of the past century.
