It was a February school day like no other. Fire took over Rahn Elementary School in Mount Morris. Students are back in a temporary class, but Saturday community members worked on raising money for a permanent location.
Organizers hope that these tables hold the answer to help rebuild Rahn Elementary School. Each table is filled with donated items that will be raffled off and given away through a silent auction. This fundraiser hopes to bring in more than $3,000 to help teachers rebuild their classrooms when a new school is built.
It's been nearly a month since Rahn Elementary in Mount Morris went up in flames, but not long enough that people have forgotten the impact this small school had on the community. Hundreds of people stopped by this fundraiser to offer their support.
One 5th grade student opened up her piggy bank and is giving away her birthday money to help raise funds to rebuild her old school. The fundraiser came complete with entertainment that took center stage with those on and off key, but in the end the only music organizers were singing the tune of more donations.
