A group of governors just back from Iraq is telling President Bush today they were "inspired" by what U.S. forces are accomplishing there.
Gov. Dirk Kempthorne of Idaho tells reporters, "they are focused, they have resolve and they are proud of the progress they are making." Kempthorne and five other governors paid a surprise visit to Iraq earlier this week, a two-day trip arranged by the White House.
Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco, a Democrat, said the security situation in Baghdad remains difficult. However, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty said despite that, Iraq appears to be flourishing with commerce increasing and Iraqis returning from exile to take part in their country's future.
