Increase in Medicare Not as Dramatic in Wisconsin

By  |

Medicare legislation leaves Wisconsin seniors with less relief.

While the $500 million boost from the federal government will mean an average increase for most American seniors, those in Wisconsin HMO's will get only a two percent increase. That's compared to about 10 and a half percent nationwide this year.

HMO's in other states are cutting premiums in half and slashing co-payments because of this relief. But in Wisconsin Medicare Complete will start offering a generic drug benefit with a $15 co-pay. Another Wisconsin HMO says it'll reduce its premium by six dollars a month.
