The judge in Martha Stewart's stock fraud trial is keeping jurors from hearing some information.
The judge is blocking prosecutors from telling jurors that Stewart's former stockbroker, Peter Bacanovic, had removed some papers from his Merrill Lynch office.
A prosecutor told the judge officials don't know exactly what the documents are. But the lawyer for Bacanovic says the only papers removed were personnel files, and he criticized the prosecution's attempt to bring the issue before the jury. Bacanovic's former assistant, Douglas Faneuil, is expected to take the stand this afternoon.
He's expected to say that his boss told him to pass on an improper stock tip to Stewart. Faneuil is the prosecution's star witness.
