Rockford Students Saw Science in Action

Levitating magnets, lasers and flowers dipped in liquid nitrogen. Sound like a magic act? Actually, it's science.

Frontier physics, a Northern Illinois University outreach program, visited fifth graders at Brookview Elementary School Monday. These youngsters had the opportunity to see the fun side of science in action.

Program leader Pati Sievert says showing kids how fun science can be gets them excited about learning.

The program will be visiting Rockford schools throughout the month of February.
