They're working and sending back pictures of the red planet. That's the news from NASA engineers on the status of "Spirit" and "Opportunity".
The rover team spent the weekend working on the problems that plagued "Spirit" for days. They plan to re-format the rover's flash memory Tuesday. The mission manager says that it's back to the state it was on day one. They're only concern is the memory problem might have side effects that aren't apparent now.
"Opportunity" is also showing what it can do. It extended its robotic arm for the first time today and sent back its first panoramic color photo.
