A major propane leak two miles north of Stillman Valley is still keeping people from their homes Thursday night.
A half mile area around Scott road, two miles north of Stillman Valley, was evacuated shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon. That's after a Commonwealth Edison crew hit an eight inch propane pipeline.
Emergency workers on the scene say the propane is evaporating into the air and is highly combustible.
The pipeline's owner, Williams’s Pipeline, says it'll be checking the line for damage in the morning before allowing anyone living in the area back home.
