National Report Looks at Rockford Manufacturing

Thousands of jobs have been lost here in the stateline, but a new report may provide some answers for the ailing sector.

Rockford played a big part in the national study spearheaded by the Bush administration.

Some of its suggestions include creating a new position specifically for manufacturing in the Department of Commerce, tax incentives and grants for employee training.

Rockford was one of 20 cities to have a voice in the manufacturing study.
