A Bloomington man is accused of trying to set a woman and her daughter on fire.

William LeRoy Owens was charged Sunday of attempted murder. His bond was set at $700,000.

According to court records, a 12-year-old girl called police saying that her mother's boyfriend poured gasoline on them and was trying to light them on fire.

When police arrived, they found Owens yelling at the girl's mother, Mary Griffin, who had a strong smell of gasoline on her.

Bloomington police found a lighter on the stairs of the apartment.

Sunday, the judge also ordered Owens to have no contact with Griffin or her daughter.
