Just after 10 p.m. Thursday night, Rochelle Police held a nine-month-old baby who was scalded while taking a bath. Rochelle’s Police Chief Ken Woolbright believes that this incident was intentional.

Twenty-two-year-old Justin Hendrickson has been charged. Hendrickson is a live in boyfriend. Only one other child lives in the apartment and was not injured. The burns were so extensive that the baby was flown to the pediatric burn unit at Loyola Medical Center in Chicago.

Hendrickson was arrested and faces charges of aggravated battery. If convicted this class two felony carries up to seven years in prison.
