Charges were filed Friday against a Winnebago County woman who says she simply cared for animals other people didn't want.
Kerry Brumm was charged with 24 counts of animal cruelty. Authorities seized dogs, cats, horses, even a pig from Herry Brumm's property last week.
Friends of Brumm say she always took the county condemned her house, but Brumm is working to bring it to code.
If found guilty, Brumm could face a year in prison and thousands of dollars in fines.
