At least 60 people at Rockford Health System have been laid off.
The move is an effort to turn the hospital's financial situation around. Management and hourly positions are among the 80 jobs cut. Sixty employees will lose their jobs and another 20 positions will remain vacant.
In addition, RHS sold its health insurance division. The changes are expected to save about $3.5 million.
