Lawrence Eppley has been re-elected chairman of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees. The 44-year-old Palatine resident has served on the board since 2001.

The Thursday elected him to a second one-year term as chairman during a meeting at the U of I's Chicago campus.

Eppley says it’s an honor to work with the trustees and administrators to lead "one of America's best universities."

He's received three degrees from the U-of-I: a bachelor's degree in 1982, a master's in accounting, also in 1982, and a law degree in 1985.
