Traffic on I-90 near Belvidere was backed up for miles this afternoon because of an accident near the Belvidere toll plaza.
Police say a mini van in the west bound lane struck the back of a stopped semi-truck. Rescue workers had to extricate the driver of the van from the wreckage.
That person was air lifted to Saint Anthony Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the semi was not hurt. The name of the drivers involved have not been released.
