Disaster Preparedness

Officials continue to warn another terror attack is likely. So a local medical center is working to make sure it's prepared if disaster strikes.

In response to the 9-11 terror attacks, St. Anthony Medical Center is changing the way it prepares for disaster, developing a new team focused on responding to chemical and biological incidents.

The threat of biological warfare has made disaster preparedness a top priority for healthcare facilities.

Some St. Anthony's Medical Center employees took part in disaster preparedness exercises Tuesday learning how treat patients covered in chemicals.

Employees here are learning how to shower and scrub down contaminated patients. But terror attacks aren't the only concerns.
