This time discovered in a partially frozen Rock River. The Beloit Fire Department recovered the body of a 65-year-old man near the Portland Street Bridge. Personal documents recovered reveal that the man is from the Chicago area.
Police say they aren't sure how long the body may have been in the river or if foul play is a factor in this death. An autopsy is set for Monday.
Sunday’s discovery comes on top of another death investigation, Beloit's 5th homicide this year. Police say 56-year-old Anthony Kundert, of Beloit, was found dead Friday afternoon in a room at Ike's Motel.
Kundert had been occupying the room since the early morning hours. Preliminary autopsy results reveal that Kundert was beaten to death.
