It's something most of us don't want to think about, a disaster at the Byron nuclear plant, but Wednesday, state agencies trained for just that.
The Illinois Emergency Management Agency set up two mobile command centers near Rochelle for the training. Workers manned the center giving briefings and coordinating mock evacuations and cleanup efforts.
Illinois is home to eleven commercial nuclear reactors, more than any other state. Fortunately there's never been an emergency at the plant in Byron.
