Slick Roads

This is more like it. This is the Illinois winter we all know and love, or at least know. Unseasonably high temperatures are replaced by freezing rain and sleet now turned into snow. Here's what you need to know if you have to drive.
As we put on our winter coats, the snow piled on top of sleet is putting a really slick coat of ice on the roads. You won't be able to see the ice under the snow but it is there so be very careful, especially, allow more space between yourself and the cars in front of you because it's going to take you longer to stop.
Rockford Police say at least a dozen accidents were reported in Rockford Sunday night, at least one with minor injuries. The only good news so far, plows are already out working on the roads.
