Two people are sent to the hospital after a taxi cab driver crashes into a telephone pole on Rockford's west side.
Witnesses say a tire on the cab blew out causing the driver to lose control and slam into a telephone pole on Auburn Street. The driver and his passenger were taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Police shut down traffic in both directions so ComEd crews could check the pole. Those lanes have since been reopened.
