RIGHT NOW, A STATELINE WOMAN DESPERATE FOR CASH FACES CHARGES OF ATTEMPTED ROBBERY AFTER AN UNSUCCESSFUL HOLD UP AT AN ASSOCIATED BANK BRANCH THIS MORNING...

DEPUTY CHIEF OF ROCKFORD POLICE GREG LINDMARK SAYS IT HAPPENED HERE AT A HIGHLANDER GROCERY STORE ON 11TH STREET IN ROCKFORD SHORTLY AFTER 10 THIS MORNING. THAT'S WHEN THE SUSPECT, FRANCIS EDGESTON, WAS DENIED A REQUEST FOR A WITHDRAWL FROM HER ACCOUNT. SHE THEN DEMANDED MONEY FROM THE TELLER WITH A NOTE THAT READ "THIS IS A STICK UP." POLICE AND FBI RESPONDED...EDGESTON IS BEING HELD BY THE WINNEBAGO COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT ON A 3,500 DOLLAR FINE.
