One woman has died after a motorcylce crash that happened Friday. The driver of that vehicle is charged with DUI, but that could now be upgraded.
The accident happened at Guilford and Perryville Roads. Police say the driver, Ricky Tapp, lost control and crashed, when surrounding vehicles yielded for a passing emergency vehicle.
Tapp and his passenger, Margaret Dahl, were thrown from the bike. Dahl died yesterday.
Winnebago County State's Attorney Joe Bruscato says cases like this often result in charges of aggravated DUI involving a death, or reckless homicide; even though the victim and driver knew each other.
"Many times I know that there are some sorts of concerns, passions and emotions that may be involved because of the relationships. But we do everything we can to try to step back from that when trying to make objective decisions about charging," says Bruscato.
If Bruscato's office decides to upgrade the charges, Tapp will likely face a grand jury next Wednesday.

its a tragedy yes, however its not stated how the emergency vehicle one had lights on with no sirens and ran a red traffic light. He has to live the rest of his life with the fact she died, isnt that enough.
