The drowning happened at about three at the Paradise Camping Resort, which is located off of Station Street. A 50-year-old man from the Chicago area was vacationing there and became exhausted before going under the surface of a swimming pond. Several fire departments responded. It took them about a half-hour to locate him. He died before arriving to Swedish American Hospital in Belvidere. Authorities aren't releasing his name at this time.
