Both sides are set to meet Monday in a last ditch attempt to avert a strike.
The only sticking point in negotiations is the 5 to 2 policy. This allows teachers to have five periods to teach and two periods to plan. It's the wording of that policy that's at the center of the negotiations. It's hard to find teachers for all the courses so some teach an extra class in emergency situations, but teachers say they're aggravated that teaching 6 hours comes up each year. The district says all teachers have to do is say no.
Both sides meet Monday night. If no agreement is reached teachers will be on strike Tuesday.
