Anyone interested in learning more about the rockford MetroCentre's finances can now read a detailed report posted on the city's website.
The 53-page document summarizes the findings of an ad hoc committee established by city leaders. The group recommends offering the cash-strapped MetroCentre a three-year, three million dollar operating subsidy, plus taking over the arena's nearly half million dollar annual debt service payment for renovations.
In return, the MetroCentre must cut 300-thousand dollars from its budget and provide regular financial reports to the city. Rockford aldermen are expected to vote on the proposals next Monday.
