Mayor Lindberg has been the driving force behind removing a nearly 4-decade ban preventing ice cream trucks from selling on Loves Park streets.
Monday night city leaders discussed removing the ordinance by drafting a new set of regulations for truck vendors. Some of the rules include ; limiting operating hours from 10am to dark and allowing a maximum of 6 trucks to operate in the city. Lindberg says he's confident the change in ordinance will be approved by alderman sometime this month. If passed, ice cream trucks could hit loves park roads as soon as next summer and would operate from May to October.
