SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- State authorities say Interstate 55 near Springfield was shut down for an hour after a five-vehicle crash.
The (Springfield) State Journal-Register reports (http://bit.ly/LrAhcb ) that the crash happened yesterday morning as traffic was slowing down for another crash that happened earlier.
Illinois State Police says all five vehicles in the first crash were southbound on the interstate around 9:20 a.m. One car did not slow down and rear-ended another car. Then three cars swerved to avoid the crash.
No serious injuries were reported in either crash.
