5 People Arrested in Janesville for Robbery

JANESVILLE (WIFR) -- Five people, including three teenagers, are arrested after a drug deal in Janesville.

Police were called just after 12:30 pm Tuesday to the area of Balmoral and Glenbarr Drives after a man called 9-1-1 because he could hear an argument. While officers were on the way to the scene they learned it was an armed robbery. The victim reported to the emergency dispatcher that five people attacked him and Took his money.

Several officers and detectives responded to the 4000 block of Markham Dr. Five people were detained at the residence for questioning. The investigation showed three juvenile males and two adult males were involved in a drug deal.

There was a dispute over the drug deal and eventually $1,100, a cell phone and a watch were taken.

One of the suspects was armed with a knife during the incident.

All five suspects were charged with party to a crime of robbery. All five suspects are currently in custody. The detective bureau will be conducting follow up on the incident and evaluating additional evidence that has been collected.
