Some empty space downtown is set to be filled, while creating as many as 500 jobs in Rockford over the next three years.
The company is called Capital Acquisitions and Management, or Camco, it's a debt acquisition company that will receive just fewer than one million dollars from the state to move into the former Conseco Insurance building.
The location at Jefferson and Main will serve as the company's headquarters and training facility.
More than 150 Camco workers in DeKalb County will be transferred and nearly 300 new employees will be hired over the next year.
A majority of the new positions will pay around $40,000, that will help strengthen Rockford’s tax revenue base.
Camco plans to buy the connect building at the end of August and move in to the facility in early September.
