An autopsy done today on the body of a Rockford woman allegedly killed by her husband shows she died of a single gunshot wound to the head.
Tonight authorities are still searching for the suspect, 65 year old Thomas F. McFeggan. He was last seen driving a 2002 white two-door Chevy Cavalier with a Illinois license plate number 2695502.
Rockford Police say the investigation so far points to some secluded areas in Rockford and beyond that McFeggan mentioned in the past , where he may hurt himself there. But, they would not specify exactly where those places are.
Police found the body of 62 year Carol McFeggan yesterday morning at her home along the 1800 block of Wedel Avenue. She was shot in a back bedroom. Ironically McFeggan was a co-leader of a Homicide Survivors Support Group that met monthly at the Riverside Community Church in Machesney Park.
