A Stockton man snapped this picture of a black bear this afternoon, just north of town near Chelsea Road & Illinois Route 78. Earlier, the Jo Daviess County Sheriff warned residents to be cautious.
Kevin Pierce says some friends called him and said they saw the bear moving toward his house, so he grabbed his camera. He was able to snap several pictures of the bear in this tree.
You can find more of Kevin's pictures of the bear, under "Andy & Aaron" and then "Pix & Flix" section of wifr.com.

The DNR should put a tracking collar on it and keep track of it's wonderings. That way farmers would be warned of it's location and keep new born livestock safe. Care should be taken when you hear a clunk of a garbage can at night - it might not be a coon. Be glad it's just a bear, not a pack of wolves.
