Negotiations Continue with Winnebago County Union

The union representing nearly 500 Winnebago county employees and county leaders returned to the bargaining table.

The workers say they're ready to strike if they don't receive pay raises and insurance relief for retirees in their next contract.

A federal mediator has been brought in to help bridge the gap between the two sides. Both parties say at least some progress has been made. Winnebago County board chairman Kris Cohn has joined the negotiations.

The two sides will meet again Thursday.
