Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey continues to recuperate after doctors diagnosed him with hepatitis A. They say he likely contracted the disease while visiting China last month.
Mayor Morrissey is suffering severe flu-like symptoms and fatigue. Hepatitis A is the most common form of hepatitis and is usually transmitted through contaminated food. The good news is that the mayor is expected to make a full recovery. His staff says he has reduced his schedule for the time being but say they will not publicize that new itinerary until Monday at the earliest.
