What's Going Around At School?

By  |

The state of Illinois is launching a new Web site that's designed to provide teachers, parents and students with information on environmental issues that affect schools. The state says the Healthy Schools for Healthy Learning Web site is designed to be an educational tool. It will let people check if a school has an indoor environmental quality report. It also provides information on school-related publications and contact information for regional offices.

Illinois Public Health Director Eric Whitaker says things like mold, pesticides and cleaning products can hurt children with asthma or allergies. And he says the new Web site can help identify such problems so work can begin to correct them.
