Blagojevich Supports Canadian Drugs

Lower prices for prescription drugs, I don't think any of us would argue with that. Thursday, Gov. Blagojevich announced his support for importing cheaper drugs from Canada.

He called on the Food and Drug Administration to reverse its policy that prohibits state and local governments from importing drugs from Canada.

Prices for prescription drugs there are 30 to 50 percent lower then here. Next week, Blagojevich plans to go to Washington to lobby congress to pass legislation.

He also hopes to meet with FDA officials. Critics say the idea is illegal and potentially dangerous and harmful to business.
