Belvidere School district leaders are discussing major budget cuts tonight, now that the referendum didn't pass. But the superintendent says there are some core values that won't be compromised. The district has to raise at least $2.8 million in order to open and operate the new high school that's already been built.
Belvidere North High School will open in fall 2007 even if it means saying goodbye to some old programs. Superintendent Schlomann expects the board will make its final decision on cuts in January.
