A Japanese comedian drumming up support for Tokyo's bid for the 2016 Olympics by traveling around the world will broadcast live from a school in rural western Illinois.
Kampei Hazama plans to broadcast "Earth Marathon" from an elementary school in Wataga on Tuesday. The town is about 30 miles southeast of Moline.
The Nippon Television Network is broadcasting the show. It is showing several installments as Hazama runs and sails around the world.
The show is not being broadcast in the United States.
The network says the 60-year-old Hazama is one of Japan's best-known comedians.
Tokyo is one of Chicago's rivals for hosting the 2016 games.
