Thursday was supposed to be the deadline to find buyers for the properties, but after an auction in Chicago, the bankrupt company extended the bid deadline until Wednesday.
However, a federal judge approved the sale of four area Eagle Stores on Thursday allowing competitors to put their names on the grocery stores. Eagle says if a buyer can't be found for stores like the one on North Main Street, they will have to be closed.
Twenty-one Eagle stores are still without buyers.
