Eight new lanes will make it easier for I-pass users to travel to the far west ends of the state.
Dekalb and Dixon toll plazas on the east-west toll way, as well as the Marengo and Belvidere plazas on the northwest toll way are part of the expansion.
More than one million motorists are currently I-pass users. The passes are now available at area grocery stores.
