A group was there to try and ground a proposal to build an airport in Peotone.
Some see Peotone as an answer to severe congestion at O'Hare, but that plan was developed a few years back. With passenger service flying high in Rockford, Stateline leaders say Peotone is no longer needed and a waste of billions of tax dollars.
The federal aviation administration will review a statement from the group at a hearing next week.
