The plan is to use a dog to sniff out arson. Molly, a labrador retriever, and her handler completed a five-week canine accelerant detection course.

The training teaches the handler to work with the dog to sniff out fire starting accelerants. What once took investigators days or weeks could now be done by a dog in a matter of hours.

Nationally, arson kills more than 700 people each year, causing nearly $2 billion in property damage.
