The clinic was awarded more than $500,000 from the Department of Health and Human Services for the clinic’s medical expansion program.
The grant will be used to hire three new doctors; two additional family practice physicians and OB/GYN. Funds will also be used to establish a full time primary health clinic in Belvidere. Mayor Scott says public healthcare is a problem across America, but Crusader has been serving Rockford well.
Crusader's award was one of 66 grants that totaled more than $25 million set up to help existing health care centers expand.
