Combat helmets were placed atop 15 standing rifles for a memorial service in Iraq Thursday, one rifle for each U.S. soldier killed in a helicopter attack Sunday.
Members of the U.S. Military gathered for the ceremony at an airfield west of Baghdad. The Chinook helicopter was shot down in the Fallujah area in a missile attack.
Many of the soldiers had been heading for leave at the time of the attack.
