Ruling Backs Two Fired by Governor

Thursday an administrative law judge recommended that two of the employees Blagojevich fired be rehired.

Judge Leonard Sacks recommended yesterday to the state Civil Service Commission that Jeff Johnson and Diane Hurrelbrink did not manipulate personnel rules to keep their jobs.

Sacks says the suggestion to use an employment loophole came from bosses who did not warn the two that they might be doing something wrong.

The matter now goes to the five-member Civil Service Commission, which next meets August 21.
