Volunteer Firefighter Pleads Guilty to Arson

A volunteer firefighter is headed to prison for arson. This morning 35-year-old Mathew Book plead guilty to torching his former employer's building.

Book admitted he started a pile of saw dust and wood on fire that quickly spread to a 250-gallon oil drum. The blaze destroyed Delong's Farming Office on Alworth road in southwest Winnebago County.

Book was fired from the company back in December. At the time, Book also worked as a volunteer of the Leaf River Fire Department. Now, he faces 20-years in prison.
