Campaign signs are how many of us learn who to look for on the ballot. And when 130 of them went missing in Davis Junction, candidates there fought back. John Talbot is running as an incumbent for village trustee. Ken Diehl for village president. They say the signs were stolen last week. Three quarters of them belong to them and two other candidates. Each sign costs an average five dollars, which adds up to a lot of money. But it's the price of losing potential voters they're most worried about.
"We worked hard to get it out there, and to not have the recognition and people seeing your signs out there and your name out there, it could be really damning for an election," says Diehl.
Diehl and Talbot say they think a group of teenagers are to blame. We were unable to confirm this with the Ogle County Sheriff's Department. The signs have since been returned.

Just wanted to say that this is over, you all need to just let it go. Fair is fair, the people of DJ have spoken. To Sheryl the best thing for you to do is bow out gracefully, something you probably WON'T DO.
