In the early evening of Wednesday, October 29th, 23 WIFR went to full power for the first time in almost 4 months, sending a signal through the brand new transmitter and up through the new tower. We can now be seen with a crystal clear picture and true stereo sound in all of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.
We invite you back to 23 WIFR and to your favorite television programs, like 23 News This Morning with Andy Gannon and Aaron Wilson, The Wayne Brady Show followed by Oprah, CBS shows like CSI, Everybody Loves Raymond, 60 Minutes and Survivor, and Rockford's Most Trusted Newscast, the 23 News Update at 10 with Mimi Murphy, Alan Jones, Chief Meteorologist Mark Strehl and 23 Sports Director Mike Garrigan.
All of us at 23 WIFR want to thank the many viewers who have called during the past 4 months to offer support, get tower updates, or to just simply say they can't wait until they can see us again. From the new news set, to the new tower and transmitter, we've made a lot of positive changes at 23 WIFR and we hope you like what you see.
We have appreciated you patience during the rebuilding, but most of all we admire your loyalty to our station. It's people like you that make what we do so rewarding. Thank you for being "Viewers We Can Count On!"
